印象非常深刻的是,我在高中学习finally这个词时,总会联想到与我本人生活相关的场景;
高中时候的我习惯于将 叹气 作为一种舒缓精神压力的手段,久而久之变成了生活习惯;
可以说finally是我英语学习经历中最印象深刻的词不为过;
英英释义中,end up means to finally be in a particular place or situation
e.g. Perhaps it was inevitable that China and America would end up rivals.
e.g. the inevitable course of history
e.g. the inevitable results
e.g. My flight was delayed, so I end up spending the whole night at the airport.
e.g. If convicted of extortion, Wu Xiubo’s former mistress might end up in prison for 10 years.
e.g. end up rivals
e.g. end up homeless
Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.
Steve could have ended up being loaded.
He ended up ashes after racking his brain to the plan, instead of freedom.
