When I was 16 years old, I visited Wudang Mountain, included on the World Heritage List by UNESCO,(世界自然文化遗产项目) with my grandmother in Spring. It was Saturday morning that we took a bus and came to the Shiyan City. After lunch,we arrived at the foot of Wudang Mountain and bought incenses in various formswhich can be burned in Golden Palace (Golden Peak) to worship the God, Xuan Wu.
It took us about twohours to climb the mountain. Grandmother burned incenses and kneeled when sheprayed. While the martial arts impressed me most which was called Wudang chuan. It was a strong element of Taoist neidan exercises and could be displayed bypeople with quick changing positions and complex and amazing fighting gestures.
When I was almostexhausted, we finally came to the peak, Golden Palace. In the hall stood thestatue of Emperor Zhenwu in the shrine with Golden Boy and Jade Girl, and twogenerals of Fire and Water attending him on the left and right. Through the ages, the palace still presents its glamour and grandiosity. A golden plaque withfour Chinese characters 'Jin', 'Guang', 'Miao' and 'Xiang' written by Kangxiwas shining.
At night we came back andhad dinner at home. It was a fabulous experience.
