Once I was a child dreaming of being a wealthy edifice designer, little by little I turned out to be more devoted to abstract architecture of heart and brain, or emotion and reason.
Once I thought that I met the most charming boy and he seemed to be into me, a sign of beautifully romantic relationship, however a few friends` groundless worries aroused my deep insecurity and all crashed.
Once I had a lovable friend I believed would be with me for a lifetime thanks to many traits we happily shared, unexpectedly the gaps between us broadening after a few years` growth in separate cities, now the friendship has almost gone.
…
There were thoseonce and thenin my life.
Things not always turn out to be the vision of my hope or prediction. What was destined in my younger head could not survive hinders such as time, others` random judgement, or messy virtual dramas in my brain, proceed to break the idealized fate imagination.
A month ago, I started to thinkin a different way.
I am standing at thenowpoint, which is the result of past decisions and behaviors. Future instead, is a network of incidents leading to discrete results. At every node of this complex network representing your multiple possibilities, you have to make a decision to an attached path. Below is a simple example to help illustrate this. You can begin from the starting point at the bottomSight a charming man in your friend`s partyand explore the different paths relevant to your decisions and outside opportunities, for example, strike up a conversationdenoted on the line.
Can you read some hints from this example chart?
What I pick up is that when I encounter the specific situation, instead of focusing my thought on my present emotional state and let shyness drag me back, I would become more conscious of my single decision as it is obviously more than one independent dice game. Additionally, friends and other unpredicted power swaying me as well, it is better to realize their actual existence and adjust selections correspondingly to the outside environment. More importantly, one inferior decision can be compensated in later options, but never be careless and bypass it if possible since you do not know when the next negligence leads to the total failure, in this case,You remain strangers.
Accordingly, more general guiding principlesfrom this example are as follows:
1)Make a better choice any time instead of letting the laziness and shyness keep you.
2)Be careful of your negative thinking preventing you from making a better choice. Anytime at a decision node, consider the possible outcome in your mind and base your resolution on the preferred outcome.
3)Do not neglect the outside power that would influence your view of the circumstance and thus your judgement.
It is so like a captain facing different paths in front in an adventurous journey. A chain of choices pave the way to another intersection, foreseen and unforeseen incidents waiting for your judgement.
