Front-sight focus
The author, Mark Divine, who is one of SEAL, shares a true experience that he use front-sight focus to save himself. Once in a training of parachuting, unfortunately, his canopy collapsed into a wobbly sheet that he had to plummet to the earth with picking up speed. His life only remained eight seconds.
However, instead of waiting for dead with fear, he took a deep breath and shook the riser of canopy again. At that moment of crisis, miracle occured. The chute caught some air, then he hit the ground alive.
From this experience Mark realizes that the most stunning thing is front-sight focus allowing him to perform under extremely stressful conditions. He says, front-sight focus refers to a shooter gazing intently at the front sight and putting attention narrow down to that piece of metal just at a few inches in front of him. He contends he would have died if he'd tried to think the way out. Furthermore, he also suggests that we will easily distinguish high-value target from low-hanging fruit with front-sight focus to overcome challenges.
