If you’re going to try, go all the way. Thiscould mean losing girlfriends, wives, relatives, jobs and maybe your mind. Go allthe way.

如果你想尝试，就要全力以赴。这将意味着你会失去女朋友、妻子、亲戚或是你的工作。所以你要全力以赴。

It could mean not eating for three or fourdays. It could mean freezing on a park bench. It could mean jail. It could meanderision, mockery, isolation.

这将意味着你三四天不能够吃饱饭了这将意味着你会谁在公园冰天雪地里的长凳上，这将意味着你会被拘留，会成为别人的笑柄，被人嘲笑，孤立。

Isolation is the gift. All the others are atest of your endurance, of how much you really want to do it. And, you’ll doit, despite rejection and the worst odds. And it will be better than anythingelse you can imagine.

孤立是一份礼物，是所有人对你忍耐力的一项考验，来测验你真正有多想去做成一件事。然而，你依然要去做，不顾别人的拒绝和一些最坏的可能性。这样会比你随意想象要好得多。

If you’re going to try, go all the way. Thereis no other feeling like that.

这让我想起了《月亮与六便士》的主人公，为了艺术，抛妻弃子，放弃了原先优越的生活，远走他乡，即使三餐不继，穷困潦倒，别人嘲笑不理解，依然坚持对艺术的追求。
