1) 半个小时过去了，说明动作已经发生，所以用gone by.，但是末班车还没来，这是与前面半小时过去了同时发生，于是用but 连接。我们只好走回家，“只好”表示别无选择，所以可以用"have no choice but to do "表示。
Half an hour had gone by，but the last bus had not come yet. We had no choice but to go home on feet.
2)“看上去”用“seem to be ”表示，“因为她还没有背熟课文”应用现在完成时表示。“担心”用"be worried about "表示。“汉语考试”用“Chinese exam”表示。
Mary seems to be worried about Chinese exam. Because she has not learn the text by heart.
3)“已被推迟”用现在完成时表示，不妨用“may as well”表示。“推迟”用“postpone”表示。“比赛”用match表示。
Since the basketball match has been postponed，we may as well visit the museum.
4) 一直住在 可以用一般过去式来表示，一直用all the way 表示。
He lived with his parents in Australia all the way throughout the World War II.
5) 自从用“since”表示，失去联系用“lose touch with”表示。
Since I graduated from Nanjing university，I have kind of lost touch with my classmates.
