I come from a family who are not good at expressing their feelings. For example, my mum and dad seldom show their sentiment towards each other in public. And because of their influence, I also tend to be reserved and have no idea how to display others my affection and admiration. Even my bestie Sandra used to complain she was not sure whether I take her serious or not.
After living with Ling's family, I begin to understand how important it is to tell our beloved family and friends that we love them and also get their actual response in the first time. For instance, if I am clueless what to cook as lunchbox, Jenny and Ling will give me advice in a nice way. When I finally make it, they will encourage me with a big and warm hug. I find it a good way to communicate with each other and most importantly, we are sincere and willing to do this.
PS 1: Today we had tempura eggplant at dinner, so delicious! It brought me back those fond memories in Dalian when I could have easy access to light but tasty Japanese food like the adorable oden in Lawson Convenience Store.
PS 2: Ling shared with me the story of Joseph Smith, the founder of the Latter Day Saint movement, which inspired me to recognise the importance of embracing liberty, working and praying really hard for what I want. I believe practice makes perfect. So do not withdraw after discovering difficulties! I will take the leap when I reach that high level, just like the fish jump!
