"爱"是人类永恒的话题。我今天分享的绘本是:《I'll Always Love You》我永远爱你
这是一个和小朋友们讨论“老”和“死”的绘本故事，主人公小男孩有一只他认为是全世界最好的狗，他每天都会对他说“我永远爱你！”，然而小男孩一天天长大，他的小狗却比他长得更快，直到老死了。男孩虽然也很伤心，却能够成熟坦然地面对，因为他每天都对他的狗说过“我永远爱你”，而且他相信他的狗是懂的。
作者：汉斯·威尔罕(Hans Wilhelm)，出生于德国，长大后才移民美国，他自谦因为英文不够好，所以必须用更好的图画来为他说话。当他在1985年出版这一本与孩子讨论“老”“死”话题的图画书时，即使是在当时已相当多元开放的美国，仍然不为大多数人所接受。但是威尔罕坚持这是一个必要的主题，他认为只要好好呈现这个主题，孩子们不但不会恐惧死亡，还能因为他们已经了解了老、病、死而尽早走出悲伤，用更成熟的态度来面对世界。

This is a story about Elfie--the best dog in the whole world.
这是阿雅的故事，她是世界上最好的狗。
We grew up together, but Elfie grew much faster than I did.I loved resting my head on her warm coat.Then we would dream together.
我们两个一起长大，不过阿雅长得比我快多了。我最爱把头靠在她暖暖的毛上，和她一起做梦。
My brother and sister loved Elfie very much,but she was my dog.
哥哥和妹妹也很爱阿雅，但是，她是我的狗。
Every day, Elfie and I played together.
每天，我和阿雅都在一起玩。
Elfie loved to chase squirrels and to dig in my mother's flower garden.
阿雅喜欢追松鼠，也喜欢把妈妈的花园挖得一团糟。
Sometimes my folks would get very angry with Elfie when she would get into mischief. But they still loved her, even when they scolded her.The trouble was, no one told her except me.
有时候，他调皮捣蛋，家人会很生气。不过就算他们骂了阿雅，他们还是爱她的。问题是，除了我，没有人告诉过阿雅，他们爱她。
The years passed quickly, and while I was growing taller and taller, Elfie was growing rounder and rounder.
时间过得很快，我越长越高，阿雅却越来越圆。
The older Elfie got, the more she slept, and the less she liked to walk. I was getting worried!
阿雅一天天老了，她越来越爱睡觉，越来越不爱出去散步，我也越来越担心。
We took Elfie to the vet, but there wasn't much he could do."Elfie is just growing old," he said.
我们带阿雅去看兽医，但是医生也帮不上忙。“阿雅只是老了，” 他说。
It soon became too difficult for Elfie to climb the stairs.But she had to sleep in my room.
不久，阿雅没有办法爬楼梯了。可是她一定得来我的房间睡。
I gave Elfie a soft pillow to sleep on, and before we went to sleep I would say to her, "I'll always love you." I know she understood.
我让阿雅谁在软软的枕头上。每晚在她临睡前，我都要跟她说：“我永远爱你。” 我知道她会懂的。
One morning I woke up and discovered that Elfie had died during the night.
有一天早上我醒来，发现阿雅已经在夜里死掉了。
We buried Elfie together. We all cried and hugged each other.
我们把阿雅埋在院子里，大家难过地抱在一起哭。
My brother and sister loved Elfie a lot, but they never told her so. I was very sad, too, but it helped to remembered that I had told her every night," I'll always love you."
哥哥和妹妹都很爱阿雅，但是他们从来没有告诉过她。我也很伤心，不过想到每天晚上我都告诉她“我永远爱你”，心里就觉得好过一些。
A neighbor offered me a puppy. I knew Elfie wouldn't have minded, but I said no. I gave him Elfie's basket instead. He needed it more than I did.
邻居要送一只小狗给我，我知道阿雅不会在意，但我还是说不要了，我还把阿雅的篮子送给他，现在他比我更用得上那只篮子。
Someday I'll have another dog, or a kitten or a goldfish. But whatever it is, I'll tell it every night: " I'll always love you."
也许有一天，我还会有另一只狗，一只猫或一条金鱼。不论他是什么，每晚我都会跟他说：“我永远爱你。
这个小故事表面上看起来好像有一点点悲伤，但实际如果细细品读，就能体会出故事里洋溢的温情。
【赏读建议】1.本绘本的主题是"爱"，所以在读绘本过程中，一定要和孩子一起去感受爱，渗透"爱"的元素。 二.语言点的落实不必过多，可以让孩子找出我和狗互动的语句，we grew together，I love resting my head on her warm coat. Elfie and I played together，I gave Elfie a soft pillow. I always love you. 等。三.关于 "爱"，还可以和孩子一起将:我和狗之间的感情，以及我的兄弟姐妹和狗之间的互动作对比，来突出: 我总是对狗说 I alowys love you.
最后别忘了引导孩子，当一种爱失去以后，应该怎样去延续自己的爱。我认为:这才是我们读这本绘本最核心的东西。
