In 2008, we held Olympic games for the first time in Beijing, and had earthquake in Sichuan, while we had extreme weather in Hunan in Winter.
It rained and snowed at the same time, which cause a series of problems. Like the power line was cut, the road was full of ice ect. It means we couldn't have light in the evenings, and we couldn't warm up our body with electric heater even the temperature was under 0℃. For students, we needed to finish our homework in the daytime and had nothing to do but bear the coldness in darkness.
In such circumstances, we all went out to play together once the darkness was coming. We played hide and seek, ice-skate or just talked for a long time, the time we spent together is highly enjoyable. But the ice also brought more dangers. We had more car accidents, and people were much easier to slip, and my mom was one of them. She got hurt when slipped on the ice, so I had to take care of her and did more chores than usual.
