Young Sheldon
For 9-year-old Sheldon Cooper, it isn’t easy growing up in East Texas. Being a once-in-a-generation mind capable of advanced mathematics and science isn’t always helpful in a land where church and football are king. And while the vulnerable, gifted and somewhat naïve Sheldon deals with the world, his very normal family must find a way to deal with him.

To grasp(grab) at straws
To make a desperate attempt to salvage a bad situation.
This line comes when grandma is kind of teasing the pastor(牧师)of the church being questioned by young Sheldon again. He got a bit awkward for not being able to answer the doubt appropriately.
Here's another example using this pharse.
When the teacher called on her, Jane was grasping at straws—she had no idea how to answer the question.
02
Never hear the end of it
To have to listen to someone repeatedly talk about something that is embarrassing, shameful, or irritating.
03

Mentally or emotionally stable; not troubled or distressed.
04
Between you and me
George Sr.: What do you say we keep this quiet?
Sheldon: You mean like a secret?
George Sr.: No, no, just, you know, something between you and me.
Sheldon's dad was trying to convince him that no one else needs to know the secret. But keeping his mouth shut was never easy.
05
Come clean
To admit something to someone, often regarding a wrongdoing that one has tried to hide.
heart-warming lines
