After reading more,I found that Amy Chua is really a strict Chinese mother. I’m so glad that my parents seldom force me to do the things I don’t like. They were not like Amy Chua, forcing her daughters to do what they never want to. On the contrary, they always encourage me to consider my interests and abilities for they think that interests and dreams shall always be the most decisive consideration in my choosing for a job. I once told them that I wanted to be the first chairwoman of China when i was a little kid. Without laughing, they said, “Wow ,such a big dream. Just go and get it. But remember you have to work pretty hard so that you can achieve your dream.”
I played a lot when I was a little child. As a matter of fact, I developed many interests, such as playing the piano, drawing, acting, playing badminton and so on. When I went to my cousin’s home for the first time, I was deeply attracted by the big, gorgeous piano lining against the wall. And I saw my cousin’s fingers dancing on the keys like a bird, I made my own decision. I wanted to play the piano as well. I begged my parents so hard to buy me a piano, and finally they were moved. Then I got it.
At first, my piano teacher praised me for my great passion and progress. However, things were not going as expected then. I found it difficult for me to sit down and practise playing the piano for more than half an hour every day. I loved playing with other kids rather than sitting on the chair. Gradually, I showed impatient and didn’t want to attend classes. I remembered there was a time when my teacher came to my home to teach me, I sighed deeply. My mother criticized me sharply, ”How dare you? This is a sign of disrespect in any case!” Tears rolled down my face quietly. After that, my mum made a schedule for my practice time. She ordered me to obey it. I had no choice but to keep doing this. I made it.
What makes me feel grateful to my parents is that they made me know what insistence is. I think everyone may have a hard time while learning something, and the key is to go on. My parents waked up my passion for the piano. And this taught me to appreciate the charm of music. Now I always relax myself by playing the piano freely. I love my parents, though they show love in a way which might seem strict.
