刚看了一则The Economist经济学人. 在新闻简要里面遇到了一个不怎么常见的单词。Haggle over.
后面查阅字典才发现,Haggle with 有讨价还价,争论不休的意思。
Haggle后面通常接with/over这2个介词作为短语:
1.Haggle with sb 与(某人)讨价还价
例句:Ella taught her how to haggle with used furniture dealers. [VERB + with] 艾拉教她如何与旧家具商讨价还价.
2.Haggle over sth 与(事情/价格)讨价还价,争论不休
例句: I left him in the market haggling over the price of a shirt. [VERB + over] 我扔下他自己在市场上就一件衬衫讨价还价.
